US: Epicurean Hotel, an Autograph Collection property in South Tampa, Florida, has launched its expansion project located directly across from the137-room main hotel.

The four-storey expansion has added 51 rooms and suites, a private lobby, meeting space, and a rooftop terrace to Epicurean Hotel’s offerings.

Accommodation consists of 31 standard king rooms, eight deluxe king rooms, three two-room suites, and one junior suite. The project also incorporates two fully restored apartment buildings which are scheduled to open later this spring, offering eight suites with separate dining and living areas, a kitchenette, and a king-sized bed and sofa bed.

New meeting space includes the Chateau Room featuring an eight-foot video wall, accommodating up to 50 guests. The Cask Room offers a built-in plasma TV and can cater up to 30 guests. Both meeting rooms open onto the Vineyard Terrace, suitable for private receptions for up to 130 people.

Architect and interior designer Orlando-based L2 Studios, Inc. led the project. Additional partners include Cooper Johnson Smith Peterson Architects, Inc. for the exterior concept design, and Nelson Construction, the general contractor.

Epicurean Hotel was developed in partnership with Mainsail Lodging & Development and Bern’s Steak House. It marked the first newly constructed hotel in the United States to join Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

“This addition really elevates the streetscape of South Howard, which has become a focal point of Tampa’s booming culinary scene thanks to Bern’s Steak House, Haven, Epicurean Hotel and others,” said Joe Collier, president and founder, Mainsail Lodging & Development. “The added accommodations will allow us to better meet market demand for our rooms, which has consistently outpaced our supply, particularly for high-demand suites.”
