UK: Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, a collection of golf properties, will open two hotels in the next month including the brand’s first in Northern Ireland.
Dornoch Station (opening 28th August) and Slieve Donald (opening 1st September) will relaunch under the Marine & Lawn brand with refurbished rooms, public spaces, and F&B concepts.
Formerly known as Dornoch Hotel, the site sits on four acres of land close to the first fairway of Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Since the acquisition in 2022, the property has undergone renovation and now includes 89 guest rooms, The Golden Horse restaurant and Bar Ross, along with a new putting green and fire pits.
Located close to the Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland, the 180-key Slieve Donard will open with four restaurants – J.J. Farrall’s, the Lighthouse Lounge, Wolf Bar and The Percy French – and a two-floor spa. Wellness facilities include treatment rooms, an indoor pool, vitality pool, steam pool, rock sauna, a gym, and a hair salon.
The two properties will join Rusacks St Andrews, Marine North Berwick and Marine Troon in Scotland. The Adelphi Portush is currently under development in Northern Ireland.
Phillip Allen, President, Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing not one, but two new properties into the Marine & Lawn portfolio, including our first outside of Scotland. Our team has taken great care to refurbish these storied, local gems and bring them to brand standards that meet the needs of the discerning traveller. We look forward to reintroducing Slieve Donard and Dornoch Station to travellers and offering a hospitality experience inspired by these world-class golf destinations.”
