US: Development firm Weyland Ventures in partnership with management company Common Bond Hotel Collection, has opened the boutique property Myriad Hotel in Kentucky.
The 65-room hotel is located within the Highlands district of Louisville, Kentucky. It is housed in a former factory which was responsible for creating the majority of the world’s supply of disco balls.
Design features of the property pay homage to the building’s origin. A “party button” in the elevator, for example, triggers music and dancing lights.
Accommodation spans 15 different room styles, including the Corner Suite with a separate living room, as well as two bunk rooms. All come equipped with workstations.
Two food and beverage concepts include the restaurant Paseo and cafe Switchboard. Executive chef Jeremy Frederiksen and Mike Wajda, director of culinary at the Common Bond Hotel Collection, have designed the menu at Paseo which is inspired by wood-fired dishes of Southern Europe.
Switchboard offers grab-and-go coffee and pastries as well as a space to work remotely. During the evening it transforms into a cocktail bar.
Other amenities at the Myriad include a swim club with day passes available for non-hotel guests. Poolside day beds and chaise lounges are available for reservation with light bites and cocktails provided by the pool bar.
Adjacent to the pool, the firepit provides seating for up to 12 people. An additional social space called the Bar Keep offers a private lounge, dining and retail experience.
General manager of Myriad Hotel, Draek Shepard, added: “Louisville is a city full of strength, pride, and charm, and the introduction of the Myriad brings a new perspective that is different from any other concept. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences with unexpected touches that will surprise and delight guests. We are excited to welcome both locals and visitors to experience The Myriad Hotel.”
Craig Pishotti, COO of Weyland Ventures and co-founder of Common Bond Hotel Collection, said: “The Myriad Hotel embodies what makes Louisville, and specifically the Highlands neighbourhood, so special. We wanted to create a space for both visitors and locals to escape to – a getaway to relax and unwind, where they can expect the unexpected. But it’s not just about providing a memorable experience for our guests; we are proud to support the local community and contribute to its growth.”
Common Bond Hotel Collection, a subsidiary of Weyland Ventures, partnered with WorK Architecture on the project.
