Rosewood opens debut hotel in Germany

Germany: Luxury hotel group Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has opened its first German property located in Munich, housed in the former Bavarian State Bank.

Rosewood Munich offers 73 rooms and 59 suites. Five signature suites provide a residential vibe with various options that can accommodate up to four bedrooms. Five food and beverage venues include the lobby lounge, a full-service brasserie, the Wintergarten, the exterior Palaishof and a bar.

Additional amenities include six event spaces, with two ballrooms offering outdoor space. The Asaya Spa is spread over two floors with treatments in partnership with brands such as Dr. Barbara Sturm, OTO, Ground Wellbeing and EviDenS de Beauté. Facilities include an indoor pool, dual saunas, herbal steam room, six treatment rooms, a wellness suite for day retreats, and Technogym equipment in the fitness centre.

Spanning two buildings, architecture firm Hilmer Sattler Architekten Ahlers led the restoration of the site with interiors overseen by Tara Bernerd & Partners. The restaurant and bar interiors have been designed by DiPPOLD Interior Design Studio.

Artwork by illustrator Olaf Hajek, wood-carved pieces by Rosanna Merklin, and images by fashion and architectural photographer Michael Mann are featured throughout the hotel.

Radha Arora, president of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, said: “A bustling metropolis immersed in historical charm, Munich is the perfect destination for Rosewood’s first foray into Germany. Rosewood Munich is not only a tribute to the city’s vibrant culture and storied history but it is also testament to our passion for pioneering hospitality.”
