URBANAUTS opens two sites in France and Vienna

France/Vienna: Hotel and apartment company URBANAUTS has opened its first hotel in France as well as 14 apartments in Vienna.

The first hotel by URBANAUTS is located in Monpazier on the Place des Cornières. Architect Enrico Realacci transformed the 12th century historic site into the hideauts hotels Le Chevalier bleu.

Rooms vary in size across six categories and cater to solo travellers, couples and families. Amenities include a lobby, lounge, bar, sauna, and outdoor pool.

The hotel has also introduced a Fellows program, partnering with select local businesses including restaurants, bakeries, retail, museums and more, for guests to explore.

Over in Vienna, the URBANAUTS STUDIOS Fillgrander is housed in the former Iterkult Theater close to Mariahilfer Strasse and features 14 apartments. The concept, design and planning has been led by Büro KLK.

Many of the units have fitted kitchens and come in three categories: cozy, comfy and spacy. A laundry lounge with washing machine and dryer is available for guest use.

URBANAUTS STUDIOS Fillgrander will run the Fellows program to “replace not only the lobby and hotel bar, but also all the other usual services of classic hotels.”

Theresia Kohlmayr, managing director of URBANAUTS, said: “Experiencing ‘the essence of local’ and interacting with the surrounding restaurants, bars, and cafés is central to our concept. Our guests value the system of Fellows.”

The URBANAUTS aim to “rethink the idea of the hotel”. For example, hideauts hotels will be located within historic buildings which are revived by the URBANAUTS in collaboration with architectural experts.

The URBANAUTS Hospitality Group was established in November 2015 and is responsible for managing the portfolio.
