Zelda Dearest reveals October opening date

US: The latest boutique property under management company Lark Hotels, Zelda Dearest, is due to open on 8 October this year located in Asheville.

The 20-room hotel is set across three restored mansions within Asheville’s South Slope neighbourhood. It is named after Zelda Fitzgerald, the wife of novelist Scott Fitzgerald. Anderson Design Studio led the interiors of the property.

Amenities include a cocktail bar helmed by Jacob Sessoms and an outdoor courtyard named The Garden, suitable for hosting events. A light complimentary breakfast is included in overnight stays.

Zelda Dearest marks the second partnership between Lark Hotels, developer Hatteras Sky and its capital partner Somera Capital East.

Hatteras Sky is a commercial real estate development firm with a focus on multifamily and hospitality. The company serves as the official hotelier of the Fitzgerald Estate. An additional 35-room hotel, Zelda Salon, is currently in pre-development.

Lark Hotels manages a portfolio of more than 30 branded boutique hotels in the US. It has a footprint in California, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Also in Asheville, the company opened the third Blind Tiger property earlier this year. Other brands within the Lark portfolio include Bluebird and AWOL, alongside the Lark Independent collection.
